Massage Therapy
Sometimes your muscles just need some love. Whether you’re running a marathon or running a household with kids, dogs and piles of washing, you need your body to be moving well and feeling great.
What should I expect in a soft tissue massage?
The first thing we’ll do is assess your body, posture and how you’re feeling. We want to make sure we’re tackling the right parts so you can see real improvements.
We’ll explain everything that will happen during your treatment including where we’ll be doing hands-on treatment and the kind of pressure to expect. We’ll also explain when we need to work directly on your skin and when we can work through your clothes. Before we start treatment, we’ll make sure you’re comfortable and know what to expect.
Our massage therapist works closely with the physio team to make sure you’re getting the best treatment and advice possible.
Is massage therapy suitable for everyone?
Yes, massage therapy is a great treatment for nearly all adults.
If you have a specific condition, let us know when you’re making your appointment and we’ll let you know whether you’re suitable for massage therapy. In certain cases, we may need a GP letter to carry our massage therapy.
What benefits can I expect with massage treatment?
- Relaxed muscles with less strain and tension
- Improved movement in stiff joints
- Increased flexibility (get ready to touch your toes!)
- Recovery for muscles and soft tissue after a training session or endurance event
- Happiness and joy with your new, lovely ache-free body
Self-care after massage therapy
Once you’ve treated your muscles to some self-love, it’s best to drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol until the following day.
If you’ve got any questions or are feeling unsure about anything, don’t hesitate to give us a call back. We’re alway happy to answer your questions.
